And more than anything they are huge leaps forward in my letting go, allowing the fresh, vibrant, and slightly abstract inner world to come alive without any unnecessary control. Another watercolor I managed in a fit of experimentation. I hope you like it

Lately watercolors have just been in my soul to use. Something so beautiful and magic about the way they move and breathe. Difficult in the extreme to master — for so many reasons, but worth the chaos  if you’re obsessed enough I suppose On the Edge started out as a drawing, like everything, but had wrapped up into it the ever-present daunting task of an artist trying to validate himself in a world that has largely forgotten the meaning of art. Feels silly admitting all the turmoil, passion, and difficulty behind these artistic creations; but somehow I feel it matters in the end. And so here’s another silent victory I’m quite thrilled about. I do hope you like it.

I’ve been creating a lot lately, back to traditional media. At least for now. Warhorse, among many others, came charging out from the shadows of my heart at long last. It is an incredibly special piece to me. It’s everything I feel inside that matters, everything that resists giving up or giving in. And it’s dedicated to any and everyone who is struggling against pain or fear or pressure of any kind. I’d push the button to cure the world if I could, at any cost. I really would. But all I can do is make these gallant men and women inside me come to life, and then pray like hell they’ll make a difference somehow. Even if it’s just in me. So here it is… I do hope you like it.
